Ladghar is located about 23 kms from Matvan (9 kms from Dapoli). The Ladghar beach is also known as “Tamas Teertha” as some part of the sea here appears to be red in colour. This beach is of religious importance and taking a holy bath here is a big attraction. Also, it’s a great spot for swimming, either in the sea or in the adjacent area where a river empties into the sea. Some part of the beach is covered with coloured pebbles and boulders thereby creating a beach-rock collector’s paradise. There’s a beautiful, ancient temple of Lord Shiva known as ‘Veleshwar’ temple situated near the beach.
